The Acer M310 Windows Phone, which has a variety of features such as advanced display, sharp pictures and a good processor, has been denied by Microsoft for having the 2 gigabytes of HTC memory which is used for the hi-res mode. The reason is that this memory cannot be directly allocated to the unit, which means that the mobile has to use the private memory on the phone. Thus, Microsoft has concluded that the memory configuration of the Windows Phone cannot be implemented without damaging the internal architecture of the phone, leading to unwanted system crashes.
We already know that this support decision by Microsoft has not been helped by the software development company which is responsible for the device. In order to solve this problem, the company has already decided to completely upgrade the system, upgrading the CPU and the GPU to higher capacity. But as we all know, this process will take more time than anticipated. Also, since this problem will now remain with the phone, it will not be possible to use the memory of the unit anymore. There is still hope though because the latest mobile from Acer has the Hi-Res mode. The support company has informed Acer that the memory configuration is still being supported in the future version of the Windows Phone.
However, in order to solve this issue, the support company has recommended to call Microsoft first and ask about the possible support changes. Another possible solution is to use non-Microsoft phones and other similar devices which have the hardware supported by Microsoft. Some of the devices do not require the complete upgrade of the device, but the memory can still be used as internal memory, thus, giving the Acer M310 Windows Phone the chance to stay functional.
