Unable Add Printers is a new addition to the Microsoft support center, brought to the attention of customers by a number of retail providers. A « migration tool » has been developed and is currently in use on many consumer PCs. Microsoft has never before attempted such a thing, as the company previously did not have a formal system for performing this function, but now has the technology that it needs to address customer concerns over network failures. A number of retailers and computer repair professionals are not happy with the fact that Microsoft appears to be targeting their customers by way of this new service. The company appears to be working with certain online retailers, but its intentions are not a secret and consumers will likely not have to worry about computers running « slowly » or not being able to locate print jobs. When the entire user experience changes, many people will continue to wonder about what Microsoft’s intentions are and what they intend to accomplish.
