If you’ve been using Windows for a while, you know that it has one of the most robust error tracking systems in existence. It’s a very useful tool because it allows your system to report any errors it may encounter as soon as possible. But it’s not perfect. This is the issue that Microsoft is trying to address with their new Windows Error Reporting (WER) program. As Windows has been growing in popularity, so have these errors. However, some errors just seem to get more difficult to fix. For example, it’s a common error to see Done But Errors, which is a screen that displays any errors that you have not yet completed.

This error is caused by the fact that there are a lot of programs running in the background that Windows has no control over. When the system encounters this page, it can often incorrectly render the error as a command that will do nothing at all. While the system will still report the error, the screen is still shown and you can’t finish what you were doing. This is one of the most frustrating errors that Windows has ever seen, and it’s also one of the most common. To solve this problem, Microsoft is offering the update KB3073986 to fix this issue.

This update enables Windows to report Done But Errors pages properly. This change will allow programs such as Adobe Reader to correctly display the page, and it will also work with many other errors including Blue Screen of Death and Kernel Mode Exceptions. Because it will stop these types of errors from ever occurring, Windows is working more efficiently and will allow the system to deal with the errors that it finds more efficiently.
