With a new type of app, a group of people can now go to an airline for an early boarding pass, using a fingerprint. Previously the only way to do this was to pre-pay for a boarding pass at the airport and then wait in line at the TSA. That’s not exactly an efficient solution since you are losing the convenience of not having to wait in line, it also means that you have to leave your credit card or cash behind.

So, with technology evolving, it’s no wonder the airfare industry is considering how to keep up with the times. One idea being considered by the industry would be to have pre-paid boarding passes for passengers that require a fingerprint for identification. The idea here is that many people would now want a way to travel without ever leaving their home, instead just providing their fingerprints and they’ll be whisked away in a matter of seconds.

So, as an example, a common request by a traveler would be to board a flight early, something that would not be possible if you had to wait in line at the airport. If a travel website offers this, then you would be charged a small fee. The idea would be to eliminate waiting in line and allow you to travel faster and more efficiently. But perhaps, in time, this could be expanded into something like Apple’s similar iBeacons or the iPhone’s ‘Share’ button, allowing users to sign up to receive early boarding passes without leaving their home.
