In Microsoft’s Windows Vista you can import Firefox bookmarks into IE 8 Favourites. If you are familiar with the original Firefox browser, then you know that you cannot import many of the default shortcuts into a new browser. Most are either missing or not compatible with the new browser.
The problem is that Firefox and most other browsers come pre-installed with many of their own shortcuts, without being able to be exported for use with a new browser. This can be done through third party applications. One such application is called IE8 Favourites. You will need to install this application and allow it to update your Firefox bookmarks before you can import them into Ie 8 Favourites. Once you have done that, you will then be able to import any of your Firefox shortcuts into Ie 8 Favourites.
The problem is that Firefox has been designed as a « lightweight » browser and is not quite as capable as other browsers. Some of the shortcuts that come with Firefox are only available in Mozilla Firefox and the one that is called « home » does not actually open up in Firefox at all. You will also find that some of the shortcuts to download things, like play games, will not work when you use IE 8 Favourites with Firefox because they do not come with that particular browser.
