With the new and improved Windows support in BlackBerry 10, it has been obvious that the WinPhone platform will expand its sphere of business clients. Microsoft is trying to get ahead of it’s competition by getting into more mobile computing applications. As soon as Windows Phone gets more extensive support and more robust applications, Microsoft will begin to extend its reach. Recently a rumor began circulating that Microsoft is getting into the Broadband Access business with Motorola phones.

Motorola in London has recently decided to launch a line of mobile phones called the BUBBLE. According to reports the device will have what the company calls « Universal Business Platform » which will allow subscribers to access various applications from the Windows Mobile platform. This makes sense, because it helps users share data through the WAP application with their other devices. According to a report, Motorola will support the new interface at its London office. There are some features on the Windows platform that Windows Mobile doesn’t support, such as a plug and play mechanism and link ups with BlackBerry OS. But if Microsoft can get this kind of support with Windows Mobile, it opens up the possibility for other developers to begin developing apps for Motorola devices.

It would be great if the BUBBLE device were made available through BBB. It could give BBB users an opportunity to purchase a new phone at a substantial discount. The BUBBLE might also attract new users who otherwise would have avoided the BlackBerry platform. Although BBM is very popular with BlackBerry users, it might not be enough to keep the app base up to the same level as BBB has. Motorola is also considering making the BUBBLE available to the public via retail channels and getting a lot of Windows Phone users who don’t normally buy phones.
