The Runtime Error is a major bug in Windows. It appears every time you start up your PC and there is no known way to fix it to use a ‘real’ Windows Fixer. The Runtime Error usually appears in the Registry. When this happens, you will find that all of your programs are slow and unreliable. You may even have a blue screen of death. But it’s not just programs that cause problems with the Runtime Error.

If you try to use one of your favourite desktop programs, Windows may claim that it can’t locate the program and hence you will get a message saying « System Settings – Cannot find that program, close it and restart. » All programs will claim to be missing when you first install them, but eventually most will begin working again. This is because when the program fails to load or doesn’t function properly, Windows will often become confused and lose track of which programs are required and which are non-essential. Whenever the Runtime Error occurs, you can try manually deleting these useless programs.

If you’ve already deleted some applications, and the Registry isn’t fully cleaned, then you will probably need to reinstall any programs that you’ve deleted from the Registry. This will probably be a good idea since you will have a clean slate for other software installations. Although the Registry is notoriously difficult to navigate, even the experts will often hit problems with their machines once they’re trying to edit the Registry. If you do get into trouble, then you may want to just uninstall the program and then reinstall it again. However, if you run into a series of problems with your machine, you may be able to fix the Registry yourself. Just go to Start > Run > type « regedit » and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.
