It’s always been a problem with Outlook: there’s always something that gets dropped in your Inbox Sent Mail Etc mailbox that you don’t want. You can, of course, get rid of all of the junk messages by deleting them from the Inbox Sent Mail Etc mailbox. But then the other junk, which is the messages you want to keep, are still sitting in your mailbox, too. They’re not deleted, and they’re keeping up more trash in your inbox. It’s not really a good thing to have!

There are better solutions for handling junk in Outlook than having to use file managers or Exchange accounts. One of those is Microsoft’s Outlook Express. Microsoft has never put the time in to create a great file manager, so it only offers a basic interface. But with the Microsoft Exchange option, you get a more functional one with all the right features.

While Microsoft is aware of the problem, it’s not always the easiest way to deal with the situation, especially if you are using third party file managers like FileZilla or Cyberduck. There are better solutions, like Microsoft’s Outlook Express. If you need to get rid of some junk in your Outlook, this could be just the solution you’ve been looking for.
